About This Project

Create a public-interest provenance registry for sacred and culturally important objects that grades the confidence of possession chains and routes high-risk cases into restitution, shared stewardship, or independent review. The point is not to shame every museum into paralysis; it is to stop treating provenance silence as neutrality. Objects with ritual, tribal, indigenous, funerary, or conflict-zone risk should carry visible custody grades, claim channels, and a restitution escrow option funded by institutions, donors, insurers, and market participants.
